Chicago's First Lady... Where Memories are Made...
Imagine a magnificent sunset against the Chicago Skyline as the backdrop for your special Chicago wedding ceremony, reception, or rehearsal dinner. Wedding aboard Chicago's Finest Fleet can be as unique as you are! Many weddings on the water are held on the upper deck of any one of the Chicago's First Lady yachts, followed by a fabulous on-board dinner cruise, reception on the river or along the lakefront.
Your minister may perform the ceremony dockside and then disembark the vessel before the reception sets sail. Or, the Captain may capture the scenic backdrop you have been dreaming of for your ceremony anywhere on Chicago's waterways. We will gladly set the upper deck for the ceremony and then reset for dancing and socializing for an additional $250 fee. Don't forget to plan around the Lakefront Fireworks each Saturday during the summer season at 10:15pm.
Location and Departure
Departing from the Michigan Avenue bridge at Wacker Drive, convenient to all downtown hotels, Chicago's First Lady is available for evening (after 4:00 pm) weddings, receptions, prenuptial dinner parties up to 150. (see Our Fleet for details)
Enjoy Chicago's New Riverwalk before or after your cruise. Chicago's First Lady is conveniently docked at the southeast corner of the Michigan Avenue Riverwalk.
Convenience to Hotels
Your guests may be able to walk from any one of Chicago's downtown hotels, or we offer convenient parking at the 111 E. Wacker Drive Systems Parking Garage with a slight discount if your ticket is validated by a crew member. Some brides choose to include our map & directions printed on their invitations, including our blue awning as a marked entrance. Our marble & granite Ladies restrooms are ample size for the bride to dress prior to the ceremony.
Chicago's First Lady staff and crew are at your service as you chart a course for a customized cruise celebration. Choose one of our three celebrated caterers to create a customized menu to suit all tastes and budgets.
Music
Experienced live bands, D.J.'s, photographers, florists and wedding cake designers are also available for added flair. Don't forget to ask your florist for an aisle runner suitable for the ceremony. Please note we do not allow, bubbles, rice or confetti for obvious safety concerns. You are welcome to bring your own cake from your favorite baker with no additional fees, but please discuss this with your caterer for serving details.
Plug in your own iPod for complimentary dance music. Upgraded dance speakers also available, add $100. You can trust Chicago's First Lady's staff and crew to help guide you and your family to a wonderful wedding day.
For Smaller Parties and Rehearsal Dinners
For the perfect Rehearsal Dinner Event, you may wish to consider Chicago's Little Lady. Experience the intimacy of a floating rehearsal dinner where friends and family can enjoy the skyline while getting to know one another. Groups of 10 — 80 can enjoy the comfort of indoor or open air party atmosphere.
* For a super intimate wedding for 6 or Fewer passengers choose Lady Grebe; a vintage yacht reminisant of the 1960's.
