Welcome aboard: local snacks and beverages

Posted on March 29, 2017

We love snacks. And we especially love tasty snacks made in sweet home Chicago! We are pleased to welcome back some old favorites as well as introduce several newcomers. Get a bellyfull of deliciousness when you cruise aboard the Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise aboard Chicago’s First Lady Cruises or our sister cruiseline, Mercury, Chicago’s Skyline Cruiseline.

Limitless Coffee & Tea - NEW!

Limitless’ commitment to pursuing the cleanest coffee and tea in the world translates to a superior tasting brew you can feel good about putting in your body. This summer, we are pleased to offer their cold brew coffee aboard all Chicago’s First Lady Cruises vessels.

Born in Chicago’s Fulton Market, Limitless Coffee & Tea’s mission is to deliver the cleanest coffee and tea possible. Their process involves sourcing from farms with organic farming practices to bring you a coffee bean in its purest form.

Hilary’s Cookies - NEW!

Many of Hilary’s all natural, gourmet cookies are vegan, though she herself is not - why is that? “They're softer,” she says. And are they ever! As one Yelper confessed, “I realized finally what a REAL COOKIE tastes like.” Enjoy Hilary's classic chocolate chip, oatmeal scotchie and snickerdoodle aboard our vessels.

Hilary’s Cookies is located in Lincoln Square on the northwest side of Chicago. You can find her cookies at Whole Foods, at her storefront cookie paradise and now...on Chicago’s waterways! Read about Hilary’s Cookies in TimeOut Chicago.

Munchy Bar - NEW!

Gourmet goodness - like dried Michigan cherries and Wisconsin honey - packs these chewy, locally made bars. Named “Best Locally Made Snack” by Chicago magazine’s annual 2016 Best of Chicago list.
A product of Sauce and Bread Kitchen, a bakery and cafe in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood that emphasizes local ingredients and house-made fare.

Mama’s Nuts

Mama’s Nuts are handcrafted small batch treats inspired by family recipes. Enjoy sweet and savory nut selections aboard our tours and be transported back to memories of nuts grandma use to make.

Mama’s Nuts is the nut child of  Abe Conlon and Adrienne Lo, owners and chefs of the lauded Macanese fusion restaurant Fat Rice. Located in Logan Square, their Fat Rice empire recently expanded with the addition of a bakery, cocktail lounge and more. Learn how Mama’s Nuts was born.

Revolution Brewing

Our taps are flowing again with Revolution Brewing’s flagship IPA Anti-Hero. Described as “supremely aromatic, crisp, and drinkable”, this India Pale Ale is a satisfying brew for every season of cruising (though summer is particularly satisfying).

Revolution Brewing is Illinois’ largest independent craft brewery with its 99,000 square foot brewery and taproom located in Avondale, a northwest neighborhood in Chicago. Those looking for a bite with their bev can visit Revolution’s nearby Brewpub in Logan Square. Visit the brewery for a complimentary tour (21+) led by by passionate Revolutionists.

Big Shoulders Coffee

Local roaster Big Shoulders Coffee returns to our ships with their artisan roasts to wake up the senses and warm up the belly. Big Shoulders prides themselves on meticulously selected and pristinely roasted coffees.

Big Shoulders Coffee can be found around town at various restaurants (and boats!) or enjoy a cup at their West Town location. In addition to their daily selections, enjoy limited-time special feature coffees, single-origin coffees from micro coffee producers and seasonal blends.
