Merry and Bright: Your Mag Mile Lights Fest Agenda
The BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Mile Lights Festival begins November 22, but how else should you spend your weekend downtown and jingle all the way? Here’s an agenda to inspire you!
The Mag Mile lights festival starts promptly at 4:00 PM on Friday, November 22 with an oversized snow globe, countless holiday card photo-ops, live music and a visit with Santa himself. Lights Festival Lane will also feature tents from Garrett Popcorn, Frango Mints, Connie’s Pizza, and The Eli’s Cheesecake Company, so you certainly won’t go hungry or bored!
Late Night Dinner
After snacking and frolicking down Lights Festival Lane, walk over to Giordano’s on Randolph Street for their famous stuffed deep dish pizza. There’s nothing like sitting down in a Giordano’s booth after spending the afternoon outside.
Have 90 minutes to kill? Start your day on the water! This weekend is your last chance to hop on the Chicago Architecture Foundation Center River Cruise aboard Chicago’s First Lady. The cozy interior of the boat features a full service bar including hot apple cider and tasty snacks and the upper deck offers the best views of the city. Cheers!
In celebration of the lights festival, Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse in River North will have free Italian hot chocolate up until the tree lighting ceremony. Enjoy the festive decor and holiday music as you warm up before another night outside.
Spend the day buying Christmas presents at Christkindlmarket. Admire ornaments, eat a pretzel with cheese, and drink mulled wine out of an adorable mug. Don’t forget your hat and gloves because this German-inspired market is open-air!
Queue up a Christmas playlist and head downtown to watch Minnie and Mickey dash through the snow this weekend!
